Babysitting!

I went to Boise to babysit for Neil and Becky so they could go to San Diego. I flew in on Wednesday the 27th of August. Mom and Nathan picked me up at the airport. Becky and Neil flew out Thursday morning. We left for the airport just after we sent Matthew and Alyssa off to school. Nathan and I played together, washed the cars, and had a fun day. Nathan's favorite part was rinsing out the rags with the hose.

Once Matthew and Alyssa got home from school they had some friends over and played for a while. For dinner, we went and picked up Pizza.

Friday the kids didn't have school. We got up, had breakfast, got ready and then went to The Discovery Center. The kids loved it and we stayed for almost 4 hours! The main room had some big tubes with fans that you put paper into and watched it blow up.

The boys loved making their own robots and playing "Vet" with the animals.

All 3 of them LOVED the grocery store. Alyssa took over the cash register and enjoyed ringing everyone up and collecting all the money!

After the Hot and Cold presentation about liquid Nitrogen, we played with the blocks for a long time. Alyssa and Matthew wanted to build houses and pathways between the houses. Nathan just wanted to build a really long dock and give us house building supplies.

This is Nathan standing on his long dock.
We had lunch on the lawn right by the Discovery Center and then headed home to get Alyssa ready to go to a Birthday Party. When she got home, we went to Mom and Dad's for dinner. The kids had such a late lunch that none of them wanted any dinner.
Saturday we played at the park, went to see Kung Foo Panda, and went swimming at Mom and Dad's. Sunday, we got up and the kids played for a long time. We started getting ready for church and before I knew it we were running late.... we made it just a few minutes late but we made quite the distraction as I was trying to get all 3 kids quiet. Nathan didn't want to go to Church and Matthew and Alyssa just wanted to talk and laugh and tease each other. How does one person separate 3 kids? I put Nathan on my lap and had Matthew on one side and Alyssa on the other side. They finally settled down and I have to admit I was greatful for Primary classes and the fact that I didn't have to go to Primary for once! In sunday school class they came in looking for a Sunbeam teacher (Nathan's class) to fill in. I was tempted for only half a second....
After church we had enough time to change our clothes, frost the surprise welcome home cake, eat a quick snack and then go pick up Becky and Neil from the airport.
The kids were excited for them to be home and so was I!
