3 CONCERTS IN 1 WEEK!

The first was in San Diego with Dede. We saw Rhett Miller.
We had pretty good seats and enjoyed the show. We stuck around a little bit afterwards to see if he would come out but had a bit of a drive to get back to the bungalow so we didn't get to meet him.

The second was in Salt Lake with Manda. We saw Colbie Caillat at "In The Venue." It was pretty cold standing in line outside in the snow waiting to get in. Once we got in, the show was sold out and packed! There were so many people and it was a bit uncomfortable but still a lot of fun. We even liked the opening bands' music.
The third concert was by far my favorite! We saw Sara Bareilles at The Velour in Provo. It was a small venue and learning from the night before, we showed up 2 hours early and got in line. We brought a blanket to sit on and bought some hot chocolate. Manda, Colleen, Dede and I all went. Once the doors opened a half hour before the event we were cold and ready to be inside. Because we had been so early we got a great place to stand for the concert. We were along a wall on the side of the stage with only 1 row of people in front of us and had some breathing room. It was also the hallway to back stage so we saw them come out before anyone else. This was the first time Sara had been a headliner at a concert and was so excited to have such a big crowd that could sing along to her songs with her! The guy that opened for her is part of her band and does some stuff on his own as well. His name is Javier Dunn and is really good. He asked if anyone had a request and was surprised when Manda and I gave him the name of one of his songs! (We saw him in Aspen back in September when he played with Sara Bareilles). The song we asked for was the last one he played and said it was for us and pointed to us since we were the only ones in the room that knew his songs! The concert was amazing and we stuck around long enough to get a picture with Javier and with Sara! She even noticed I was wearing one of her shirts!

Sandy Ego!

Dede and I traveled to San Diego for the weekend and had a lot of fun on the beach. It was 78 degrees and sunny when we left on Monday. We enjoyed watching the surfers and soaked in the warmth, knowing we were headed back to cold snowy utah! (There was a foot of snow on the ground when we left on Friday morning). We stayed in the Banana Bungalow which is a hostel right on the beach. We didn't spend very much time there cause we had so much to do and see! We went on a harbor cruise and saw the coastline of San Diego and learned some really cool things. (none of which I can remember now).

We also went to the Wild Animal Park! We got a little bit lost and took the long way there so didn't get to stay as long as we wanted. What a cool place! We took a tour bus and saw giraffes, rhinos, lions, and other animals. The lions were my favorite. The parents were not anywhere around but we saw 6 little lion cubs playing and rolling around with each other. Soooo cute!

The trip to the San Diego Temple was the highlight of the trip for me. I think this temple is so beautiful! We went to the 8pm session on Saturday night. With only 7 women and 2 men it was a small group. We also were able to see Rhett Miller in concert. He is one of Dede's favorites. I enjoyed it as well. We drove up the pacific coast highway to get to Solana Beach where the concert was. We watched the sunset at Fletcher cove. It was really pretty. It ended up being a really really fun vacation!

Remembering President Hinckley

President Gordon B. Hinckley was a prophet, seer, and revelator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! He will be remembered as a man of great humor,

wisdom, a great love for his wife and all people,

a football fan,

and the prophet to build, dedicate, and rededicate many many temples!

This tribute is also worth watching!
