Birthday Fun!

While in Boise, I had the chance to celebrate my birthday early with my family. So fun to be with everyone! All the nieces and nephews that were at the party posed for a picture with the birthday girl!

On my actual Birthday I had to get up early to go to an early morning meeting. I was a little rushed and didn't have time to enjoy the surprises Colleen left me in the kitchen.
This was on the counter with a note that there was waffle batter in the fridge and cool whip in the freezer. Also, another treat in the freezer!

I was super excited but really late and had to run out the door without a birthday breakfast :o (
Work was busy that morning getting a lot of stuff done. Then my coworkers and I went to my Boss's house for a birthday BBQ and planning meeting. We had delicious steaks and chicken and lots of other yummy snacks. Ashley's birthday was the day before mine, Becky's is coming up on Sunday, and Coventry's is Monday. We all got a handy tool and gift card to Target.
After our delicous feast and planning meeting, I did a group with my boys where I had a birthday party for me! We played the balloon tied to your ankle and you have to pop everyone else's without getting yours popped. Then we sat in a circle and tied everyone's wrists together. We then had to make ice cream sundaes and eat them while being tied together. Great fun!

I got home and Colleen gave me presents!

She bought them on her lunch hour and had used old posters at work to wrap them. ADHD and Irritable Bowel Syndrome posters make funny wrapping paper!

A new angel for my shelf and a new DVD to watch! Thanks Colleen!

Then we went to dinner at Cafe Rio..... I had a delicious Sweet Pork Burrito!
We went home and watched Step Up 2. Great Birthday Fun.
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes, cards, presents, meals, brownies, ice cream and love!
I love you all!

Babysitting!

I went to Boise to babysit for Neil and Becky so they could go to San Diego. I flew in on Wednesday the 27th of August. Mom and Nathan picked me up at the airport. Becky and Neil flew out Thursday morning. We left for the airport just after we sent Matthew and Alyssa off to school. Nathan and I played together, washed the cars, and had a fun day. Nathan's favorite part was rinsing out the rags with the hose.

Once Matthew and Alyssa got home from school they had some friends over and played for a while. For dinner, we went and picked up Pizza.

Friday the kids didn't have school. We got up, had breakfast, got ready and then went to The Discovery Center. The kids loved it and we stayed for almost 4 hours! The main room had some big tubes with fans that you put paper into and watched it blow up.

The boys loved making their own robots and playing "Vet" with the animals.

All 3 of them LOVED the grocery store. Alyssa took over the cash register and enjoyed ringing everyone up and collecting all the money!

After the Hot and Cold presentation about liquid Nitrogen, we played with the blocks for a long time. Alyssa and Matthew wanted to build houses and pathways between the houses. Nathan just wanted to build a really long dock and give us house building supplies.

This is Nathan standing on his long dock.
We had lunch on the lawn right by the Discovery Center and then headed home to get Alyssa ready to go to a Birthday Party. When she got home, we went to Mom and Dad's for dinner. The kids had such a late lunch that none of them wanted any dinner.
Saturday we played at the park, went to see Kung Foo Panda, and went swimming at Mom and Dad's. Sunday, we got up and the kids played for a long time. We started getting ready for church and before I knew it we were running late.... we made it just a few minutes late but we made quite the distraction as I was trying to get all 3 kids quiet. Nathan didn't want to go to Church and Matthew and Alyssa just wanted to talk and laugh and tease each other. How does one person separate 3 kids? I put Nathan on my lap and had Matthew on one side and Alyssa on the other side. They finally settled down and I have to admit I was greatful for Primary classes and the fact that I didn't have to go to Primary for once! In sunday school class they came in looking for a Sunbeam teacher (Nathan's class) to fill in. I was tempted for only half a second....
After church we had enough time to change our clothes, frost the surprise welcome home cake, eat a quick snack and then go pick up Becky and Neil from the airport.
The kids were excited for them to be home and so was I!
