Rental Car...

My boss made me take the day off today. I took the opportunity to take my car in to the dealership to get the paint protection, rust prevention, and cloth protection put on as well as getting a spare key made. The dealership paid to give me a rental car. I was pleased and surprised to be taken to this truck! It is so fun to drive! But it is huge! I bet dad would love it!

I Did It!

I bought a new car yesterday. I traded in my Jeep for a Subaru Outback. It is really nice and fun to drive, gets better gas mileage, and will still get me to the mountains to play! Yeah!
My Uncle helped me out and Colleen and i drove away to live happily ever after.... for now, at least.

Time for a new ride!?!?!?!

I am thinking quite seriosly of getting a new ride! When I was driving home from work about a week and a half ago, the front passenger window suddenly fell into the door. I was quite startled at first! I must say I am quite glad that it wasn't on my side of the car! I laugh about the experience but am realzing that the cost and hassle of fixing it is no laughing matter. But, it may be a tender mercy letting me know it's time for a new car. After numerous phone calls and visit to a glass shop, I found out that the window regulator needs to be fixed. This is a small cable that holds the window in place and winds and unwinds as the window moves up and down. Apparently it is quite common for these to break and I am lucky that mine lasted 10 years! The part is $250 and must be purchased through the dealer. An uncle who works at the dealer can get me a bit of a discount but it will still cost about $180 just to buy the part. Quotes to install it were anywhere from $120 to $30. I found some used parts dealers online that can mail be the part for anywhere from $50 to $120. Now the question for all of you is.... do I trade it in on my new vehicle purchase or pay to get it fixed and sell it on my own? I can get $2500 for it as a trade-in. It is worth about $3500 if I sell it myself but would have to fix it first.

Here is the car I am seriously looking at buying... What do you think?
